About the Wilbraham, Massachusetts Area Settled in 1731 and incorporated on June 15, 1763, Wilbraham offers its residents a charming old New England setting surrounded by large tracts of preserved open space and several working farms. A volunteer group organizes an annual Peach Festival celebrating the numerous fruit orchards which dot its landscape. The Chicopee River runs along the northern border of town and the Wilbraham Mountain Range, part of the Central Upland of Massachusetts, is an escarpment that marks the eastern valley ridge. It provides tremendous westerly views and is a source of regional enjoyment. The portion of town west of the mountain lies within the Connecticut Valley Lowland. In the late 1960’s and early 1970’s the newly created Conservation Commission and the town’s local government worked toward a town meeting vote to purchase and protect hundreds of acres of open space in benefit to the greater Springfield region. There are historical landscapes, mixed farm fields and wood lots in most areas of town. Wilbraham’s rural land beauty results from the meeting of the town’s lowlands and the prominent ridge of the Wilbraham Mountains. Individual peaks such as Rattlesnake Peak, Wigwam Hill, Mount Chapin, Mount Mercy and Sunset Ridge rise steeply along the eastern side of Main Street to form the eastern edge of the Connecticut River Valley. The Town of Wilbraham is a suburban community located 6 miles east of Springfield; 81 miles southwest of Boston; 33 miles north of Hartford Connecticut; and 140 miles from New York City.

Selling Your Home >Selling the Details
It is the little things--both positive and negative--that can make a big difference to prospective buyers. Pay close attention to detail when you prepare your home to sell.
Before you list your home, go through the house with a careful eye. Fix any loose door knobs, popped screen doors, and loose grout around the tub and shower. A coat of fresh paint can work wonders to dress up a house. Wash the windows, hang a healthy plant from the bathroom skylight, and clean out the closets. Arrange the furniture to make the room look larger. If the rooms look cluttered, put your extra furniture into storage. You can brighten up a room by increasing the wattage of the light bulbs.
Going the extra mile to showcase your home will pay significant dividends when it's time to show it to buyers.
